The Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) website, safer.fmcsa.dot.gov, has added two new violations to its system. The changes are listed below:
- A violation of the 30 minute break requirement now brings a 7-point severity weight to a carrier’s Behavioral Analysis and Safety Improvement Category (BASIC) score.
- It now brings a 3-point severity weight to a carrier’s BASIC if they are found to be in possession of alcohol during a roadside inspection. The use of alcohol remains a 5-point violation.
